Ian's Year (2004 - 2005)
Area23 Karting Endurance Challenge
This
turned out to be a very successful event with about 50 participants
from 10 Area23 Tables. The event was won by Gloucester, who were
either well-practiced on the course - being on their home turf -
or else played dirtier than anyone else...?
March 05
Fountain Crescent Illuminations
 Wotton's
answer to Blackpool - as seen on TV! We were glad to be able to
help by running the hot-dog stall at the fundraising street party.
Those fleeces from our Budapest trip came in handy!

Budapest, Hungary
Budapest
lived up to expectations! Another great Vice Chairman's weekend,
including the opportunity to meet up with some Tablers from Round
Table Budapest No.2.

Tubing!
 Wheee!
Gloucester Ski Centre, but not for skiing this time. Zoom down the
slopes on a big donut, followed by mulled wine, a curry and a beer
or two après-tube! Despite Dave and Rob's best attempts,
no major injuries...

Firework Spectacular
Another
successful event, raising £4000 for charity, and probably
the best display we've yet had.

November 2004
Canoeing
A
leisurely paddle down the Gloucester Sharpness Canal from Purton
to Slimbridge, to the pub (naturally) for a few beers in the evening
sunset.
Last time we went canoeing we paddled back as well, but somehow
there wasn't much enthusiasm for leaving the pub this time!
June 2004
Project Ferrari
Dave
Jones, Past Chairman of Wotton-Under-Edge Round Table gave us a
presentation about the building of his Ferrari 355 Replica.
Star of the meeting, was the car itself which was parked in the
courtyard of the Star.
June 2004
Euromeeting, Karlshamn
This
year, 13 of us travelled to Karlshamn, Sweden. It is 30 years since
74 Club was formed, so to celebrate, this year's theme was...1974.
Abba, Gary Glitter, The Wombles; big hair, big shoes, big lapels!
Dared we admit to the way we looked back then....? Find
out here...
May 2004
Funny Women
An
unusual but very funny evening at Jesters Comedy Club in Bristol.
An evening of entertainment from stand-up female comics ranging
from the hilarious to the downright weird! And cheap Babycham (mmmm!)....
Followed by some Greek Grub.
May 2004
Handover
Last
year's Chairman Mike Davison handed over the reigns to the new Chairman,
Ian Milner at a dinner held at Hunter's Hall. This was followed
by a party at Ian's (for those still able to make it) and breakfast.
